Compared to traditional overhead bare conductors, it does not simply bundle several wires together. Instead, through structural design, it achieves significant improvements in safety, line loss rate, and construction efficiency, and is regarded as an important alternative to traditional bare conductors.

Depending on the conductor material, insulation material, and structural shape, ABC cables are available in several types. The common classifications are summarized below for reference during selection:

Convenient construction and cost savings: One laying can complete the erection of multi-phase lines, eliminating the need to separately install cross arms and insulators for each phase line as with bare conductors. This not only saves about 30% of construction time but also significantly reduces hardware costs. In densely populated areas, it is even possible to lay directly along the walls without erecting poles.
Comprehensive economic benefits: Although the material cost of ABC cable is slightly higher than that of bare conductors, due to the savings in supporting hardware, towers, and construction costs, its overall cost is on par with or even lower than that of bare conductors. At the same time, its maintenance costs in the later stage are also much lower than those of bare conductors.
